Splash Parks

When my older daughter turned 6, I had her birthday party at a Splash Park. I was a little nervous since she is a late May baby, but I took the chance and planned for it the first weekend of June. Luckily, the temperature was hot that day, but there were clouds in the sky and it rained. No, I’m sorry it didn’t rain…it poured! Luckily the park I went to had a gazebo and the decorations and food stayed dry, but wow did it rain. However, it didn’t lightning. Since the kids had their swimsuits, every single parent allowed their child to run around in the rain. I have to say, this was the greatest birthday party ever! I mean, I thought it was. My daughter thought it was. And at the time, all of the kids and parents thought it was. The joy on all of the kids’ faces as they ran around in the rain with water shoes and swimsuits on was so memorable that I still have some of those images ingrained into my mind.

My younger daughter running around once the water was turned on. You can still see how overcast it was that day.
