As a mom who loves to read, I’ve always hoped to pass along that same love of books to my daughters. While every child is different, one thing I’ve learned is that letting them choose what they read makes all the difference. I’d much rather they get excited about a story that appeals to them than feel forced to read something that doesn’t spark their interest. In our house, reading is a daily habit—15 minutes a day during the school year, and even more in the summer when there’s more time to get lost in a good book. Below is a list of books/series I recommend for kids—some are favorites from our home library, others are titles that have captured my daughters’ attention and helped nurture their love for reading.
