2025 iPad (11th generation)

The 2025 iPad (11th gen) is a sharp, well-rounded upgrade—fast, spacious, and full-featured—making it the best entry-level tablet Apple offers today.

Now I am 100% not a fan of purchasing expensive technologies for young kids. No matter how responsible and careful your child is, something is bound to happen to it. And this is so true with tablets. My main worry has always been the screen—a crack or a break can render the tablet useless. Plus there are so many inexpensive tablets out there for anyone to use and those even specifically geared towards kids (think Amazon Fire Kids tablet). BUT in my honest opinion, nothing compares to an Apple iPad. My family has tried out numerous versions of the Amazon Fire Kids tablet over the years (I’ll review this in another post), and for one reason or another, I always ended up purchasing another tablet within the year, even after upgrading that same tablet multiple times during that year.

So, three and a half years ago, I decided to buy both of my girls Apple iPads for Christmas. Yes, it was a splurge, but Amazon had a great deal during one of their sales leading up to Christmas so I decided to go for it. Since my kids were only 7 and 9 at the time, I purchased the lowest version available aka the lowest model, with the least amount of storage (ie the regular iPad, not the air or pro). I ordered tempered glass screen protectors and cases. THEY HAVE BEEN USING THEM SINCE!!! They haven’t cracked, haven’t slowed down, haven’t stopped working for any random reason out of the blue, and my kids have not filled up all the storage available in them.

About a month ago, my nephew dropped his iPad down the stairs. He was sitting on the top of the stairs when the iPad fell out of his hands and tumbled down, step by step by step. It’s the same version as my kids’ but he got it maybe 6 months later (so it’s about 3 years old). The screen shattered. Mind you, he has thrown in against the wall many times over the years (WHYYYYYYY?!?!?) and he did not have a screen protector on it (again WHYYYYYYY?!?!?). Grandma ended up buying him a new 2025 iPad (11th generation) and oh my is it amazing!

The 2025 iPad (11th generation) is Apple’s latest entry-level tablet, designed to deliver speed, simplicity, and strong value. Powered by the A16 Bionic chip, it offers a noticeable performance boost compared to the previous model—making it faster and more efficient for everyday tasks, including streaming and playing games. With 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of base storage, you should never slow and you should never have to up your storage.

While the iPad’s sleek 11-inch Liquid Retina display with vibrant colors and crisp resolution might not be so noticeable to kids, its, fun colors like Blue, Pink, Yellow, and Silver, might be.

if your child uses the iPad for FaceTime Video or other video calling apps, this generation features dual 12 MP camera—one on the back and a front-facing one with Center Stage to keep them perfectly in frame. These iClever Kids Headphones with Microphone work great for video calls, or simply when your child wants to watch a video or play a game and you prefer not to have the sound blaring. When considering shockproof cases, the SUPLIK Kids Case for New iPad is Amazon’s overall pick and it’s offered in a variety of colors. My personal favorite case though is the TopEsct Kids Case for iPad (A16) 11th Gen 11" 2025 which also comes with a tempered glass screen protector for extra protection. For me, tempered glass screen protectors just offer a superb level of protection and I wouldn’t let my child have any tablet without one.

Battery life holds steady at up to 10 hours, offering all-day use on a single charge.

In short, the 2025 iPad (11th generation) is a well-rounded, beautifully designed tablet that balances price and performance, making it a great choice for most users.
